Brexit 2.0 – indirect tax and environmental regulations

Description

Agenda

This webinar will consider the on-going challenges facing businesses since the implementation of Brexit and how trade with the EU will continue to evolve, looking at the ‘Brexit 2.0’ regulations, and other environmental legislation that will cause practical issues for many. We will focus on the key indirect tax changes, how these might affect your business, and what you can do to prepare.

  • Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) – a carbon tax introduced on 1 October 2023 and applicable on certain products imported into the EU
  • Plastic packaging tax (PPT) – a plastic packaging tax on imported and manufactured goods implemented currently in the UK and Spain (with proposed implementation in Italy expected soon)
  • VAT in the Digital Age (ViDA) – an EU wide model looking to reform and standardise aspects of the VAT regime
  • E-Invoicing – the requirement to issue electronic, and sometimes live invoices, implemented throughout the EU to varying degrees
  • UK border target operating model – plans for a new approach to importing goods into Great Britain
